A little about us...
We are an Athens based limited liability company offering personal concierge services to Ohio University Bob*Cats* and their families. We know that resources in this part of Ohio are dramatically different from where many students are from. We are here to help your 'Cat when they need it. We created the LLC so that we can provide services and help in any way we can. Megan will personally work with you and your Bobcat to ensure your experience is exactly what you expect. This is a new venture - we know there will be some bumps in the road, literally and figuratively. We kindly ask for your patience as we work through creating a process that is efficient and user friendly.
We love Athens and Ohio University, and have set up ways that we hope to give back to the Bobcat community. Every purchase you make helps us support other Bobcats in need.
Meet the Owner
Hi! I'm Megan, owner and manger of Caring for Cats. I have a passion for helping people - my expansive career path will indicate that. From healthcare to hospitality, I've always been motivated by caring for others. I'm a lifelong resident of the Athens area, and many years ago was a struggling college student. I've experienced just about anything life can hand a person - sexual assault of my best friend and death of another friend during freshman year of college, becoming a wife, mom and stepmom, parenting 3 children through teen and young adult years, losing a parent and sibling, starting 2 businesses during COVID (RIGHT!?!) and navigating the normal day to day life challenges all before I turned 40. These life experiences have taught me so much! I've learned that compassion and a listening ear go a long way for a struggling person. I've learned that resources are hard to find when you don't know what to ask for. I've learned that people often make judgements rather than offer to help with a problem. I want to offer help without judgement and make it possible for your student to get to the next step. Sometimes the next step is just getting your laundry done. Sometimes it's gathering for a home cooked meal and laughter. Sometimes it's talking through tears of frustration and learning to push through hardships, shame, or regret. Our young adult years are full of small decisions that have big consequences and can be accompanied by even bigger emotions.
I want to offer support and care for those who need it. This concierge service is a way to do that. When I'm not helping in this capacity, I'm most likely helping someone plan a wedding or event. When I have some free time, I love to travel with my husband, eat popcorn, read and make up songs about my 2 cats.
